With mechanics designed without thinking how they interact with each other or existing content, heavily critizised flavour choices (german mission tree being a century or two early and just about everything portugal come to mind) and related issues i fail to understand how one could possibly argue in favour of eu5 (which essentially equals letting eu4 die) right now. While there are of course issues with tech the reality is that since Golden Century the complains have been mostly about design decisions, with the exception of Emperor and Leviathan launches (although those two are of completely different magnitudes). The biggest issue here is that a bunch of people with absolutely zero experience in software developing exclaim to know exactly what difficulties eu4 development is facing and why it is a problem with the games age (usually they blame the "old engine", while having no idea what an engine even is). While the sentiment became more widespread since golden centuries it still remains a very specific minority opinion and was actually voiced less after the CK3 release (when people realised thag ck3 might be a good game, but wasn't magically everything ck2 was just with all issues fixed). After a few weeks you will realise that it will always be the same ~5 people making those statements or new accounts who think they are communicating what they perveived as the majority. It has always been a handfull of forum posters going full doomsday priest, either out of dissatisfaction or misinformation and a bunch of forum newcomers accepting that as the "obvious" majority opinion.
